Atelier cnS is a design company based in Guangzhou that mainly focuses on the design and research of Chinese cities and architecture in the new development stage, specializing in urban renewal and architectural revitalization under the context of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The Chinese name “竖梁社” is a translation of the Latin word "coenosis" which means "community". Its English name "cn" short for "coenosis" represents various explicit or implicit forces that drive urban growth and renewal, and metaphorically implies the infinite emergence and self-collection of design creativity under new technological and commercial conditions. The abbreviation "cnS" (China’s) stands for the concept of "created in China". The Chinese name "竖梁" also describes the current construction activities in China. “Atelier cnS” emphasizes the reality that the team must face in China, as well as the respect for the design, technical constraints and inspiration given by this reality.
In recent years, the team has completed a series of socially influential works, such as the micro-transformation of Yongqing Fang Area in Enning Road, Weipin Topchain Community in Haizhu, Xinji White House homestay cluster in Dongguan, TIT Creative Park, landscape transformation in Party Pier, Guangzhou, and B.I.G Creative Park in Haizhu Bay. The numerous transformation projects of "Atelier cnS", focusing on the combination of artistic and practical aspects, have been highly commended by various sectors and widely reported by domestic and foreign media.
