We, Iris Rampula and Johannes Wohofsky, got to know each other during our architecture studies at the Graz University of Technology, where we had been testing architecture and art production in teamwork with others since co-founding the private drawing room LOFT in the 90s. After finishing our studies, with the desire to continue the loose architectural community idea, we formed the collective balloon:architektur in 1998, which had up to 8 members. Together we shared an office in Graz and participated in competitions and exhibitions. With acquisition and processing of first realization orders we founded our office balloon_Wohofsky ZT-KG together with Andreas Gratl in 2003. In 2016 the office was transformed into balloon architekten ZT-OG. In 2022 Andreas Gratl left the company. Johannes Wohofsky and Iris Rampula-Farrag continue to lead balloon architekten ZT-OG from 2023.
