Blainey North & Associates is a global design firm specialising in interior architecture and the design of luxury environments for five and six-star hotels, exclusive residences and bespoke commercial and retail projects in Australia and around the world.
While Blainey’s architectural training enables her to manage the multi-layered aspects of large and complex projects, she is a contemporary thinker tapping into broad cultural references. She has an uncanny ability to push the conceptual boundaries of design by connecting the worlds of fashion, architectural history, visual arts and film to develop a unique, and highly relevant, design language.
Joining Blainey North in 2007, architectural director Tim Browne leads a new generation architectural approach with an emphasis on developing cutting-edge designs with a strong sense of scale, proportion, form and expression of material. Registered in both Australia and the UK, with experience across luxury residential projects, multi-residential, high-end hotels and cultural and commercial buildings, his wealth of experience is combined with a passion for mentoring and contributing to the wider architecture profession. Tim is an assessor and brief writer for the National Architects’ Accreditation Council Australia (AACA), registration examiner for the NSW Architects’ Registration Board and a mentor for the Institute of Architects (NSW).
In 2011, a further division of the company, Blainey North Collection, was established, creating glamorous, custom-designed furniture and highly-detailed specialty lighting.
