Bonsai Design + Build is a spin off, of a former company founded in 2008 called “Studio Q4.” That business was founded as a traditional architectural practice, offering mostly remodeling and additions design services. Josh Oqueli quickly realized the potential in combining the world of architecture with the world of construction. Thus, Bonsai Design + Build, LLC and its sister company, Bonsai Construction, LLC were founded in 2013. Since then, Bonsai Design + Build has grown to a modest force of talented and potent individuals that collaborate to bring its clients meticulously designed and carefully crafted and managed construction projects.
Bonsai Design + Build, LLC is a small architectural practice and construction firm focusing on high performance, sustainable + green residential and light commercial architecture and construction. We currently hold architectural registration in the state of Colorado, and a Class-C contractor’s license in the City and County of Denver. We are fully insured with professional Errors and Omissions liability coverage for both of our design and build firms.
Our passion and mantra is high performance design and construction, and believe that one of the most effective ways to create sustainable architecture is to breathe new life into an existing structure, and as such have vast experience in remodels, retrofits, restorations and renovations of historic and existing structures. Our experience doesn’t stop there, as we also have a large portfolio of new design and construction in additions, single family, duplexes, town homes and multi-family.
