Brandon Haw Architecture
Founded by Brandon Haw in 2014, Brandon Haw Architecture LLP is a New York City based firm that specializes in architecture, planning and design. The studio, located in Mies van der Rohe’s seminal Seagram building in Manhattan, is an agile design-led architectural practice with a firm belief that the quality of our environment, both at an urban scale and the smallest scale, adds value to our everyday lives physically, economically and spiritually.
Brandon Haw was born in London. The son of artists, he grew up in the 60’s era with a strong connection to the minimalist and conceptual art of the period. A graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning in London, with a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Princeton University, Mr. Haw began his illustrious career with Skidmore Owings and Merrill in New York followed by one of the longest reigning tenures at Foster + Partners.
During his 26-year legacy as a Senior Partner and Director of Foster + Partners, Mr. Haw led some of the firm’s most high profile international projects, including the HSBC World Headquarters in London, the Commerzbank Headquarters in Frankfurt, the Hearst Tower in New York and Faena House in Miami. In 2014. Mr. Haw embarked on his own to establish a design practice rooted in his signature design philosophies of which he has been professionally acclaimed for decades worldwide.
BHA believes that excellent design solutions are the result of rigorous analysis and the resolution of sometimes conflicting outside pressures – be they client goals, budget, climate, construction technique, or the constrains of the site itself. This process, through logical reduction and problem solving, results in beautifully resolved architectural designs that not only lift the spirit but also add value to both building users and clients alike.
Working closely with all varied disciplines of engineering and other consultant teams, we ensure that our architecture is rooted firmly in the optimization of systems for social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Each project is unique to its place, and the conditions of the client brief and budget. The end results looks beyond style to find beauty and functionality in the design solution.
Today, under the stewardship of its Founder, Brandon Haw Architecture is developing a series of high profile commissions in Miami and Bogotá, as well as the School of Business and Management for the University of Los Andes near Cartagena. The Practice is currently undertaking commercial office, hotel and residential developments in New York, Miami and Latin America.
Mr. Haw has lectured widely on the topic of cities and urbanism in many international venues including Brazil, India, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and the US.
