Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos

Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos [BGA] is an architecture office founded by Francisco Burgos and Ginés Garrido in 2002 in Madrid, Spain.

Over the last several years, the office has focused their work on the design, development and construction of public spaces, parks and urban planning, based on a social perspective and environmental sustainability. Madrid Rio is amongst these projects, which has been awarded by the Harvard University with the XII Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design, the most important prize awarded in the World to urban design projects. The office has also developed various projects of diverse scale in Russia, Holand, Colombia, Peru, Switzerland and Australia. Currently, they are developing the project for the Extension of the Art Museum of Lima [MALI] in Peru, the construction of the New La Paz Hospital and the Enhancement of the Arraixaca Archaeological Site in Murcia.

BGA is a professionalized office that works following well-established collaborative methods, developed over the last 20 years. A significant part of their work is dedicated to collective housing projects, always engaging with the context and incorporating innovative elements capable of creating a precise identity. Many of these projects have been awarded by prestigious organizations such as FAD and the Spanish Architecture Bienal. Additionally, they have an extensive experience in the design of bridges and understand these projects from a creative and structural point of view. Their proposals result in singular structures that are well-integrated in their surroundings, as part of broader urban and landscaping

strategies.
