Luxury Apartment in Dusseldorf’s Dreischeibenhaus – Piet Boon designs the CADMAN Concept Store
On a scale of 550 square meters and two floors, the CADMAN Concept Store presents an exclusively designed apartment by top Dutch designer, Piet Boon. With the opening in October 2015 CADMAN, Europe’s biggest real estate marketer, combines both real and virtual design worlds. The result is a ‘walk-in design magazine’ and a source of inspiration for home ideas and luxury living. The innovative concept, fitting for properties from the company owned broker office Leading Buildings, offers a customized interior, curated art pieces, furnishing details, and various advice and planning services all in one - a first in Germany.
The CADMAN Concept Store also finds itself with an impressive history in the Dreischeibenhaus. Designed by Helmut Hentrich and Hubert Petschnigg, the 94-metre high Thyssen centre is one of the most significant architectural icons of post-war modernism. And, together with Daniel Libeskind’s Kö-Bogen, the Dusseldorf theatre and the Kö-Bogen II, currently being designed by Christoph Ingenhoven, it forms a unique
architectural ensemble at the Dusseldorf Hofgarten.
CADMAN is a leading figure in the development of property brands. Using highly modern technology, it produces 3D animations and films that virtually create a unique ambience. And to round off the portfolio of the real estate marketer, a brokerage firm for new-build properties has been established with Leading Buildings.
‘The CADMAN Concept Store is the next logical step for us’, comments Marc Kömmerling, the managing director. ‘With the opening, we’re entering new territory. We’re leaping over the natural boundaries of the virtual world and welcoming the post-digital age into real estate.’
The collaboration with the Dutch design studio Piet Boon, aside from a mutual understanding of design and the international success of both businesses, is based on the talent of developing unique brands from the property and design market with worldwide success. Boon has already made a name for himself in the Benelux countries, the UK, the USA and Asia. His particular style is shown through an elegant simplicity, excellent workmanship, practical sophistication and aesthetic modesty - the luxury is less about the visual lavishness, and more about the mood conveyed by the designs. Alongside holiday homes, hotels and restaurants, Boon has also created a design edition for the British car manufacturer Land Rover, a ceramic line for Serax, and finishes his designs from the Piet Boon collection with his own manufacturers. In the CADMAN Concept Store, his unmistakable signature is found in the kitchens, lounges and sitting rooms, on decorative accessories and textiles. The apartment serves as a tangible example for customers, displaying the quality of Boon’s craft and creativity – it gives a lasting impression that inspires visitors to recreate Boon’s interior ideas in their own homes.
Alongside the Piet Boon collection, the CADMAN Concept Store includes an interactive exhibition of the premium properties from Leading Buildings and a presentation of the concierge services from Raffaele Sorrentino. As a final touch, a selection of paintings and sculptures by internationally renowned artists will be displayed, chosen carefully by CADMAN and a network of experts. Moreover, in the future, the constantly developing display of designs and collaborations will provide a continual source of inspiration.
