Carbono Atelier is an architecture studio based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Created by arch. Agustina Garcia del Rio and arch. Juan Francisco Pellet. A space that summons different disciplines, in order to solve projects of architecture and interior design.
Within the Atelier, they seek to expose the virtues of each material according to the demand of each project and client. Bring each material’s textures, resistances and scales to their limits. Carbono symbolizes this philosophy; the chemical element that affects the substances, allowing them to go from the most compact state, to the most ethereal one.
When founding the Atelier, Agustina and Juan, started desiging furniture pieces of argentine character. They sought through local traditions to address the potential of materials to interact with people. Understand the context, where the controllable scale of a furniture allows more tangible and faster results, than those the architecture offers. The legacy of this stage, was the incorporation of the world of detail to the architectural project.
ARCHITECTURE & INTERIORS
The furniture design and construction provide the architects with the tools to work in different yet completely necessary scales: the architecture and interior design. Both complementary and complex worlds reinforce each other. The result is a unique project for each client.
As a studio dedicated to architecture, the work is based on the daily lives of people, their needs and desires. It is mandatory within the team: to return the value of the sensory experience to every use and action. This means, that the Atelier aim is to lead the body to interact with space and establish notions of contact, closeness, intimacy and introspection.
