Carpenter | Lowings Architecture & Design

Carpenter | Lowings Architecture & Design – founded in 2001 – is a collaboration between American sculptor James Carpenter and British architect Luke Lowings to develop a synthesis of structure, light and space in an architectural and urban context. The collaboration has produced projects of strong visual and technical refinement developed over many years of working with clients and architects and drawing upon the services of world-class engineers, fabricators and installers. The practice has been instrumental in the development and refinement of the use of structural glass. Key projects include the Salvation Army Chapel, London, with Sheppard Robson; Sky Reflector Net, Fulton Street Station, New York with Grimshaw; and Glass Stair + Skylight for a private home in Hong Kong
