Chris Tate Architecture

​I am self taught, I set up an architecture practice in NZ approximately 10 years ago , I use to work in social services for people with disabilities but architecture was my calling. We do now though have a team of qualified architects and engineers who we work with One of the best sides of not being formally trained is that my ideas aren't diluted by someone else's theory, we have a belief that if the work is good enough it will speak for itself and attract potential clients, so on that basis we have have been PR and media shy... We are currently expanding our design service in LA and strongly believe that our buildings, which are often based on the modernist movement are so well suited to California. This made it an easy decision to setting a satellite design practice in LA, we have registered design partners there to help with documentation and regulations etc. We absolutely love the west coast of America so are excited about future projects there
