Since 2018, I have worked as an independent architect in Berlin, specializing in the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings — from classic Altbauten to the often underrated housing stock of the 1970s–90s.
Renovation demands a fundamentally different approach than new construction, frequently requiring a complete rethinking of existing floor plans. My aim is to preserve and highlight each building's original character while creating spaces of lasting quality, extending their lifespan through thoughtful adaptation.
In new construction, I favor monolithic, homogeneous timber systems over complex layered wall assemblies, resulting in robust, durable buildings. Central to my work is understanding each property's individual history and using it to shape its new present.
