The aim of protecting man and beast from dangerous contact voltages was uppermost in the mids of of Messrs. Franz Doepke (businessman) and August-Wilhelm Engels (engeneer) when they founded the Doepke company on 1 January 1956 in Norden. The development and manufacture of residual current circuit breakers coupled with their own distribution network heralded a new era in electrical installation. Since then Messrs. Doepke have established a reputation as specialists in circuit breakers and special solutions, and their RCCB product range is today the most comprehensive in the world. Over the years Doepke has developed from a company catering mainly for the German market to one wich is now operating worldwide. The product range expanded accordingly and in addition to residual current circuit breakers - today includes a broad spectrum of DIN-rail mounted devices, miniature circuit breakers, twilight switches, building management techniques and many others. This is why Doepke has a suitable solution for nearly every application 15 domestic sales agencies and over 30 abroad represent the company in a 3-tier distribution system: manufacturer - wholesale - electrical fitter. Further subsidiarys are to be found in Great Britain, Malaysia, Dubai and Hungary.
