Founded in 2021, Daria Sheina Studio (DSS) is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary design practice working across residential, commercial, cultural, and public projects. The studio approaches architecture as a way of creating meaningful relationships between people, place, and the environment—integrating material expression, environmental performance, technology, and human experience.
DSS works across a range of scales and contexts, from remote off-grid retreats and prefabricated housing to higher-density residential and culturally driven projects. Its work is defined by site-responsive design, adaptable planning, resource-conscious construction, and an interest in new models for living and working.
Collaboration is integral to the studio’s process. DSS works closely with clients, makers, consultants, builders, and communities to develop projects that are both conceptually clear and grounded in the practical realities of construction, budget, and place.
Before founding DSS, Daria Sheina contributed to complex mixed-use projects in Moscow and Vancouver, working from concept through completion. She holds a Master of Architecture from the Moscow Architectural Institute.
DSS is currently developing work across British Columbia, including missing-middle housing, remote site-responsive projects, culturally grounded collaborations with First Nations communities, and experimental approaches to prefabrication and sustainable construction.
