ESAL d. o. o. is a leading company in the region of south-east Europe, dealing with the production and marketing of roof and facade fibre-cement products, excelling in high quality and in environment and energy efficiency. The company was established on March 10, 1998, by signing the contract on joint investment between the companies Eternit (Schweiz) AG, Switzerland, and Salonit Anhovo d.d., Anhovo; the first letters of the two companies compose the name of the new company. In 2009 company became a member of group FibreCem Holding AG, consisted of companies Eternit (Schweiz) AG, Eternit-Werke Ludwig Hatschek AG, FibreCem Deutschland GmbH, Promat AG and Esal d. o. o. The company Esal represents the trademark of the advanced and endurable material of fibre-cement. The establishment of the company is a result of the Act Prohibiting production and Trade in Asbestos Products and Restructuring the Asbestos Industry, adopted in 1996, and, in compliance with this, the cessation of the production of the asbestos cement panels and pipes in Salonit Anhovo. The market requirements of the modern customer, asking for the environmentally irreproachable products, also contributed to the creation of the company. The company acts in the market with the portfolio of four selling programmes: roof covering, facade panels, interior design, and garden haberdashery. The main activity is the production of the fibre-cement corrugated roof sheets, traded as the trademark Valovitka®, and the hand manufacture of the roofing closure elements. The company is specialized also in the domain of marketing of facade panels. From the year 2002 on it is authorized for the complete commercial and technical support, provided for the distributers of the fibre-cement facade panels and the systems Swisspearl® in the region of the south-east Europe. In addition to the Slovenian market, which occupies the biggest share in the joint sale, Esal has also been spreading its markets in numerous countries in Europe and in America. It has been strengthening its presence in the international markets by implantation through subsidiaries: two companies, ESAL d. o. o. Beograd and ESAL d. o. o. in Zagreb, were founded in the year 2007, and in the year 2010, the company ESAL Hungária Kft. in Hungary. The top-level quality of Esal product is assured by the world known Swiss technology for the production of fibre-cement products, developed already in the seventies by the Swiss company Eternit based on the years-long research. The years-long Swiss origin on one hand, and the susceptibility of the young company to the needs of the modern client on the other hand, are realizing jointly the main mission of the company Esal by uniting the provision of clients with the first-class products, continuous development of the fibre-cement programme, and with internationalization.
