Estudio Botteri-Connell
Botteri-Connell Architecture studio was created in La Plata in 2010 by Sofia Botteri Cappa (1983) and Patricio Connell (1981), both graduates in Architecture from Universidad Nacional de La Plata (University of La Plata). In the past they have both gone into teaching and have participated in contests with a team of graduates and professors; these days, this still continues happening. On being both “husband&wife” and partners, they decided to create a two-head based study which fosters teamwork and promotes the interaction between different wills and capacities.
Each design is brought to life as a result of the deep relationship with their clients and of interpreting their needs and listening to their wishes. Therefore one finds pieces of work diametrically opposed as regards expression and structure but completely equal in relation to the fluid and frank relation with whom will inhabit the space. On having a great dedication to designing single-family residential houses, they devote long periods of time to study different variables for each project interrelating architecture with poetry, music, movies and literature in general.
Their work has been distinguished and has been published in Argentina, Spain, USA Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador and Chile. They have participated and have been awarded prizes in local, national and international contests. In 2014 their work was exhibited in the Quito Architecture Biennale. In 2016 their studio was among the ones that represented Argentina in the Venice Architecture Biennale; and they have just been awarded two gold medals in the category residential in American Architecture Prize.
