FABBRICANOVE is the architectural firm founded in 2009 in Florence by Enzo Fontana, Bartolozzi and Giovanni Lorenzo Matteoli with the aim of investigating languages and new substances of contemporary design. Their works are characterized by the search for a genetically urban approach, able to develop methodologies and design operations valid at different scales and at different stages of development. The study pursues these goals using as a major research tool the design competition, through which investigates pay special attention to issues related to the city and public space. Fabbricanove has been teaching in the university and is currently involved in several public and private commissions. As an emerging player on the Italian architectural scene, the studio is known for a design approach that pays meticulous attention to experimentation, urban stratification, construction details and craftsmanship. Among the main works are the conversion of the “Civico 22” building in Florence, the renovation and expansion of the "Casa di cura della Riviera" in Savona, the new headquarters Luiss University in Milan and the project for the new auditorium of the B.C.C. of San Cataldo, (CL), selected for the XVI Biennale di Architettura of Venice.
