"FEI" in Chinese refers to the door or the border. Tao Te Ching's Chapter 11 writes: "When doors and windows are cut out, from the interior vacancy arises the utility of a room. Therefore, what has apositive existence serves for profitable adaptation, and what has not that for actual usefulness."
