Gramática Arquitectónica

Teresa Sánchez Táboas, founder of the studio Gramática Arquitectónica, approaches architecture as a structured language, where form, space, and construction operate like grammatical rules. Her work is grounded in a rigorous conceptual framework shaped by her education at ETSAM, the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and the Faculty of Architecture of Porto. This background gives her projects a blend of analytical clarity and experimental curiosity, visible in the way she organizes spatial systems and interprets context.

Within Gramática Arquitectónica, Sánchez Táboas develops projects across a wide range of scales—from industrial buildings and public facilities to domestic spaces and urban interventions. Despite this diversity, her work maintains a consistent emphasis on precision, structural expression, and the careful orchestration of light. Each project is treated as a coherent system, where materiality, geometry, and program interact with the discipline of a language and the openness of a contemporary design practice.

Her architecture is also marked by a strong investigative dimension, reflecting an interest in process as much as in outcome. This leads to proposals that are both technically grounded and conceptually ambitious, often exploring new typologies or reinterpreting existing ones. Through Gramática Arquitectónica, Sánchez Táboas has built a body of work that is thoughtful, experimental, and deeply attentive to the cultural and spatial conditions of its environment.
