Santiago Rumney Guggenheim was born in Paris, France.At age 17, following in the footsteps of his great-grandmother Peggy Guggenheim, Santiago moved to Italy to study Economics and Art Administration at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.During his time in Venice, Santiago worked for the Venice Biennale’s American Pavilion for its 54th edition and, along with a friend of his, started representing emerging artists and organizing pop-up exhibitions in Paris and Cannes. Over some time, while concurrently gaining experience working in auction houses and galleries, the agency eventually grew into a gallery that opened in Miamiin 2014.In the Fall of 2014 Santiago moved to New York City, where he became the Director of RARE Gallery in Chelsea. At the beginning of 2015 Santiagoembarked upon one of his most ambitious projects to date, RUMNEY GUGGENHEIM, which used the Williamsburg Savings Bank as a space to organize pop-up exhibitions. RUMNEY GUGGENHEIM’s first show, Someplace Like Home, an all-female exhibitionfocused on the concept of home and how we define it, opened its doors to 2,500 attendees. Following the space’s closure in January of 2016, Santiago became the Director of HG Contemporary and later served as Director of the SoHo Arts Club in Chelsea. In early 2017, Santiago co-founded RGB Art Advisory, a consulting firm that provided art advisory services and facilitated the acquisition of art through Crypto Currencies. Currently, Santiago serves as Director of IK LABat Azulikin Tulum, Mexico, which is set to launch on April 20, 2018.Under the direction of Santiago and with the unwavering support of its mastermind and designerJorge Eduardo NeiraSerkel, Owner and CEO of Azulik, IK LAB promises to introduce art to Tulum in the most spectacular of ways.
