INARO is an abbreviation of Integrated Architecture Office, which refers to holistic design. We aim to address the central challenge of the built environment, sustainability, by integrating landscape, urban, and architectural design into a sustainable whole. Our work is always part of a broader context: the urban and natural environment, culture, and society. In our projects, materials, spaces, and vegetation create places that are loved, while considering the cycles of materials, carbon, and water.
We believe that creating spaces that residents feel affection and appreciation for requires careful design. We pay special attention to solutions that improve everyday life, such as functional and flexible floor plans of buildings, the comfort of urban spaces, and innovative designs for shared spaces. The developer plays a key role in achieving these goals. One of our core principles is to encourage and guide our clients toward sustainable solutions.
Our office was founded in 2007, when we won our first architectural competition. Currently, INARO employs a total of 16 architects and landscape architects. The partners are Sami Heikkinen, Vesa Humalisto, Antti Lehto, and Anna-Kaisa Aalto.
