The lines drawn in paper have actual impact on the bodies and lives of the local working force, as many others social and cultural implications of changing the built scenario. We are responsible for producing aware and sensible solutions, mainly when working on unique cultural contexts. Lajedo is a studio primarily focused in residential projects, usually apart from big urban centers. Our goals are to produce good quality space with high regards to the local artisan’s building techniques and respect to the local cultural landscape. Assuring a construction fully integrated with the surroundings, climate scenario and viable resources. As an intellectual force of action, we aim to be precise and subtle with our interventions, not acting as an imperative force disregarding environmental, cultural and landscape preexistences. As active players in this process we must mitigate the negative impacts usually related with constructing in natural and vernacular outlooks. Staying in contact with the working force, assimilating the local technics and respecting circumstances is our form to grant both naturally and humanly integrated building propositions.
