Les Ensembliers are the product of a partnership between an architect, Maxime Vandal, and an interior designer, Richard Ouellette. The firm is Quebec’s first to integrate architecture, interior design and construction.
Vertical integration allows the firm to complete complex, daring projects on-time and on-budget, such as the heritage renovation of 205 Edge Hill in Westmount, a 12,000 square-foot project completed in barely 12 months.
“We have the architect and the house painter on the same payroll, which allows us to be very responsive and facilitates quality control on our projects,” notes Maxime Vandal.
This integrated design approach has made Les Ensembliers ideally suited to their specialization in high-end residential projects, including the restoration of one of the oldest homes in Westmount, Gate Lodge, for which the firm earned an Award of Excellence presented by the Montreal Architectural Heritage Campaign in 2010.
Their projects are regularly featured in the international media. In 2012, House & Home Magazine listed Les Ensembliers’ Ermite project in Port-au-Persil as one of the 12 Best Homes of 2011.
