Linkasink

Phoenix, Arizona – Linkasink is the creative vision of noted interior designer Kirk Guthrie. Kirk was inspired to start Linkasink in 1994 during a design project for a bath and plumbing showroom in Phoenix. In the midst of the design project, Kirk was asked for his advice on products that may be missing from the market. Based on his experience working with copper, Guthrie’s suggestion of handcrafted copper sinks lead to the birth of Linkasink and a line of copper sinks produced in Mexico and hand-finished by artisans in Arizona. The Linkasink line of sinks has now grown to include beautiful products in cloisonné, carved marble, cast metal and porcelain – many featuring Venetian glass and stone mosaic basins. The company name was inspired by the family’s nickname for Kirk’s wife – Linka. The name Linkasink seemed like a natural for this family-owned company. In fact, Kirk’s wife worked side by side with him as they developed the finishes for the first copper sinks they produced. Kirk Guthrie has been working as a designer for 25 years and has a practice that is based in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. He works predominantly in Arizona, however his work also extends to homes and projects throughout the U.S. and internationally in South America, France, and Mexico. His work has been featured in magazines such as Phoenix Home and Garden and on the television show MTV Cribs. Kirk Guthrie was raised in Los Angeles and received his degree in interior design from Brigham Young University. He currently resides in Phoenix with his wife and four children. In addition to running Linkasink and his thriving design business, Kirk also pursues his personal interests that include travel, artwork, sculpting, and philanthropic endeavors. Looking to the future, Kirk Guthrie is developing a line of tables that will parallel the craftsmanship found at Linkasink. This new company will create tables that feature mosaics, carved marble, porcelain, and unique works from metalsmiths. Linkasink is an industry partner of ASID and has products featured in leading designer showrooms throughout the U.S. Linkasink is represented both in the U.S. and internationally.
