LE DÉVÉHAT VUARNESSON ARCHITECTES
The LVA Architectes agency (Guillaume Le Dévéhat and Charlotte Vuarnesson), founded in 2014, is now engaged in a wide range of programs and themes, spanning all scales—from restructuring and designing individual housing to industrial projects, collective housing, and public facilities.
A Methodology
LVA Architectes' approach involves analyzing the quality of living and working spaces, their uses, timeframes, and evolution. This enables the agency to propose new scenarios for occupying spaces, from public areas to intimate settings.
In response to ecological challenges, LVA emphasizes sensitivity to existing structures and rehabilitation, prioritizing sustainable, structural solutions. The agency’s projects highlight the intrinsic qualities and character of a site or building while adhering to principles of enduring, subtle interventions with thoughtful, context-sensitive, and environmentally respectful resource use.
This philosophy is evident in how their designs interact with surrounding landscapes, often bathed in natural light. LVA seeks a balance between built and open spaces, between technical and natural elements, and between structure and possibilities.
Valorization architecture
LVA Architects has developed significant expertise in industrial architecture, the restructuring of th Syctom selective waste sorting center in Nanterre ( France's Hauts-de-Seine region), achieved in collaboration with Patrice Gobert; a project that has been widely recognized.
The design of waste valorization facilities has opened up the agency's field of work, and LVA is no involved in large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects, as demonstrated by the competition for the Grand Paris Express Line 15 station at Stade de France Saint-Denis, carried out under subcontract for AIA architectes.
These complex architectural projects are exciting to design as a team, because of the urban, societal and environmental challenges they raise, and the current and future issues they raise.
Transversality
With a shared multidisciplinary background (graduates of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette), the two LVA partners foster transversality, experimentation, and research. They are driven by a desire to broaden exchanges, share experiences, and build collaboratively.
This multifaceted approach underpins their work as architectural advisors for the CAUE of Var (Council for Architecture, Urbanism, and the Environment) since 2017, as well as their teaching activities in interior architecture at the Académie Charpentier since 2020 and at the École Camondo since 2023.
