MACO – a synonym for premium products MACO’s success story starts 70 years ago. The company transformed from a leading manufacturer of door, sliding unit and window hardware to a provider of innovative system and security solutions. Customer requirements for maximum security, maximum convenience and the latest design for windows and doors are combined and transformed into customer-focussed complete solutions. MACO only works with certified suppliers and utilises pre-tested materials. An in-house production rate of 96 percent allows the company to guarantee its high quality standards at all times. With three production locations in Austria, an assembly plant in Russia, 15 subsidiaries and around 2,100 employees, MACO exports to over 40 countries worldwide. “MACO – made in Austria” has long since established itself as a synonym for quality without compromise. Verifiable quality certificates include MACO certifications in quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001) at all production sites. Internally generated innovativeness and flexibility Since the company’s foundation, MACO has clearly identified with Austria as its production location. Continuous modernisation in production and development is required to ensure international sustainability. For instance, MACO is planning to add a modern research and development centre. This is where future topics, such as the integration of alarm systems technology into the hardware or energy generation from the window glass, which can be used to control motorised locks and ventilation solutions, will be dealt with. The strategy for success also includes the prudent diversification of products and markets as well as consistently high employee qualification. MACO not only manufactures all of its products, all tools as well as the majority of the equipment and assembly lines are also manufactured in-house. This bundles technical know-how in the company, guarantees short paths and enables fast response times to customer demands or market requirements.
