Moriko Kira Architects

A key characteristic of the work of moriko kira architect is the variation in scale, programme and location, such as a luxury villa on a mountain in Japan, a housing scheme in IJburg or Deventer, the conversion of a grand mansion into a museum in Leiden, the interior of a Michelin star restaurant in Amsterdam. Our strength is that we are able to vary our role as architect to suit this diversity of commissions, in each instance providing clear and unique architectural responses. In small and exclusive projects we control the architectural realization down to the last detail. At the same time we act as a reliable partner in larger and more complex projects, working with everyone involved to achieve an efficient process and architecture of a high quality. We have experience in dealing with fine heritage buildings. As well as various cities in the Netherlands, we have worked in Belgium, England and Japan. In short, we command a broad spectrum of experience and know-how. Based on the constantly changing commissions, we deliver consistently distinctive and outstanding architecture. Strong and clear links between inside and outside, between public and private and between various spaces, and an exceptional command of materials and details are the hallmarks of our architectural expression. It is our joy and also our strength as architects to tackle a wide variety of subjects in this way. Because in so doing we broaden our perspective and our vision, and find ourselves time and again inspired by new challenges.
