Founded in 2009, we have built a reputation for providing a friendly, personal and flexible service to our clients regardless of project scale, budget or ambition.
Our work is defined by a sensitive yet aspirational approach: our inventiveness, judgement and tactical awareness appeals to clients who seek boldness, ingenuity and imagination without sacrificing the practical demands of cost, deadline and delivery.
We believe our clients share our view that excellence in architecture requires a profound respect for the past, an acute awareness of the present, and the ability to anticipate the demands of the future. As a London practice we frequently work on constrained, urban sites; often in conservation areas or within the curtilage of listed buildings. In every case our aim is to complement and enhance the existing condition; to consider not just our site but the wider context and our civic responsibilities. We appreciate, and never ignore, the economic, social and financial pressures which drive construction.
Empathy is at the heart of our work – architecture, after all, is for people. It depends on human interaction from conception to execution and enhances human interaction in use. Understanding, and more importantly, sharing, our clients’ objectives, values and aspirations is essential. As a result, our buildings can be exuberant or restrained, colourful or quiet – consistent in quality rather than uniform in style.
The Morrow + Lorraine studio is a tight-knit team of talented people drawn from leading universities and top practices. Our low turnover of staff is testimony to the long-term commitment of the practice to our most precious asset.
