What is Nunc?
Nunc is a furniture manufacturer in the region of Slavonia, the town called Đakovo. Created by the end of 2018, in 2019 debuted at a furniture fair in Cologne, Germany. Designers from all over the world create Nunc products. Their design ideas originate from an invaluable natural resource of Slavonia — durable, high-quality, timeless and beautiful timber and from the Slavonian soul.
The tradition and culture of everyday life, and the traditional design of utilitarian items, reinterpreted in contemporary language and combined with modern technology, results in timeless simplicity, present in every “now”. The immense cultural heritage embodied in the Nuncs collection has been the main drive to start translating from the then to the now.
The product names communicate the character of their designs, using the Slavonian vocabulary combining Croatian, Serbian, German, Hungarian, and Turkish.
Bolta means arch – a chair following the soft shape of the human body.
Ala means dragon – a collection of dining, office and conference tables and the divider.
Svib means a bundle of flowers – a chair providing stability and comfort with the combination of the metal armrest accentuated by oak veneers and the rotating chair leg construction.
Cot meaning loop – a stool that is timeless and dynamic
Taraba means fence – a harmonious and playful room divider
Duja means two – eccentric and elegant modular cabinet
These present just a few of the products from the collection designed by Regular Company, Riccardo Carli, Studio RU: T, Nataša Njegovanović, Katerina Trpokvska/Rinocca, and others with the guidance of Nikola Radeljković – Nuncs art director, who is nurturing collaborations with promising young designers, developing their own unique, minimalist design signature which is something to look forward to in the following years.
