It was in 1957 that Mr. Vincenzo Tamborrino, almost in his thirties, produced his first prototype of shelving with screw bolts by means of rudimentary methods. At that time he was quite famous as blacksmith within his area, thanks to his father’s teachings, and had decided to follow his steps: with enthusiasm and a dynamic personal attitude, he established the “Tamborrino’s Mechanic Workshop” and became soon an important presence in reference to the production of light carpentry, building tools and metal fixtures.
One day, after buying a shelving with screw bolts for his own business, he was struck by a sudden idea: within few seconds he evaluated a possible production process to improve it, the related costs and the potential margins of profit. From that day, more than 50 years have passed, with so much intensive work, critical phases, but also with lots of achievements and passion for results. In these pages we will review those years thanks to the protagonists’ memories and by showing some old pictures which come from the company’s collection.
