Pedro Miguel Santos completed in 2012 his master's degree in architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts at the Lusíada University of Porto with a dissertation under the theme "The Museological Space in a Context of Economic Recession", a work honored by the Portuguese Association of Museology and finalist at the Archiprix Awards.

In 2013, he develops the short film "Zigurate", which reflects on the Portuguese duality between urban and population development, which ends up being exhibited in several international film and architecture film festivals, including the Interfilm Festival Berlin and Arquitectura Film Festival Santiago (Chile). "Zigurate" also obtains the prize "Curtas da Casa 2013", at the Douro Film Harvest festival.

He began to develop practical works at his own office in 2012, where he employs his own previously developed theory, such as the "Umbral de las Americas" competition (Tijuana, Mexico, 2014), in which is proposal was finalist and several of the principles developed in his master's degree dissertation were applied. He is currently involved with his office in various architectural projects ranging from urban rehabilitation to industrial architecture.
