Peter Legge Associates

Peter Legge Associates was founded in 1961 by Peter B Legge, and for over fifty years of practice, earned an enviable reputation for quality design and performance across a wide range of projects, most especially in the hospitality, residential and industrial sectors. Over the years, Peter was architect for many of the major medical multinationals' first projects in Ireland, including those for Abbott, Allergan, Hollister, Organon, Servier and Becton Dickinson, and also garnered multiple awards and competition successes, most notably winning the first international design competition for the redevelopment of the iconic Battersea Power Station in London in 1984. Peter was still active in the practice, and in life, right up to his passing in January of 2019, and remains an inspiration to us all at Peter Legge Associates. In 2004 Peter was first joined by Patrick Lloyd, a graduate of the School of Architecture at Dublin Institute of Technology. Recipient of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland Deirdre O'Connor Medal for Professional Practice in 2008, Patrick returned to the practice in 2010, from a year with Bates Smart in Melbourne, and has lead the team through multiple successful and award winning projects in the years since. Patrick, along with Cornelia Hope, interior designer and wife of Peter, and Hugh O'Rourke, also a graduate of the School of Architecture at DIT, accompanied by faithful office dog Domino, form the nucleus of Peter Legge Associates today. Peter Legge Associates is a registered practice with the RIAI and extends to architecture, landscape, interior and furniture design, with a variety of projects in the hospitality, commercial and residential sectors. We believe that every project should be a reflection of two things, the client and the context, and our design strategy is based upon meticulous research and study of each, so to arrive at a deep understanding of both. Our interest always is in creating homes, as opposed to just houses or work spaces, and this is reflected in the emphasis on craft, texture, and indeed emotion, that is always present in our work.
