PLB Philosophy
PLB is focused on using image to excite, move and provoke feelings by capturing the unique spatial qualities and specificity of each architectural project. The PLB team aims to reveal the powerful forces of each project’s particular spatial concept by deploying cutting-edge technological innovation available in the production of digital graphics and animation.
At PLB, architecture is represented in its very essence; fresh as flesh, supple and malleable. As a result, image is a “search space”, a medium in which possibility and potentiality are explored.
As highly experienced visualization artists, the PLB team stands on call to express your ideas through stunning renderings or animation. Effectiveness and time efficiency are as important as quality for the PLB Studio.
About us
The PLB Studio was founded in New York by three enthusiastic young international architects - Severino Alfonso, Loukia Tsafoulia and Eleftheria Xanthouli - who have seen the potential in New York for a studio focused on producing high quality computer-generated renderings for architects, designers, artists, developers, etc.
We share a common taste for research into innovation, experimentation in the field of non-conventional media at the service of representing architectural and artistic design even as we creatively evolve pre-existing representations.
Each member of the PLB studio has extensive experience in producing high quality computer generated graphics as can be observed in the renderings and animations in our web page. We have joined our forces to create an interactive approach to the representational issues architects encounter on a daily basis. Continuous feedback, constructive criticism and fun are the key ingredients of our success.
The PLB Team
Severino Alfonso recently graduated with an M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University. As a Teacher Assistant at Barnard College of Architecture for the course in ”Architectural Representation: Perception” in 2011, he refined the art of feedback and constructive criticism as students were encouraged to look beyond convention. He has been employed in various international architectural studios such us Carme Pinos, Angel Fernandez Alba, and Federico Soriano in Spain and Lomar Arkitekter in Sweden. He is a member of the scientific research association “encoger” (www.encoger.org) and participates in Project Intersection (www.projectintersection.org), a joint project built on the collaboration of various groups of artists, scientists, film makers and architects.
Loukia Tsafoulia also recently graduated with a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, with a fellowship from Gerondelis Foundation. She obtained her professional degree in Architecture from the National Technical University in Athens in 2010 and spent a year as an exchange student in the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal. From 2006 to 2009 she participated in research programs in the Laboratory of Urban Environment, Department of Urban and Regional Planning in the National Technical University of Athens.
Eleftheria Xanthouli recently graduated with a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University as well and is also a Gerondelis Foundation fellow. She obtained her professional degree in Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens in 2009.
