Polsheer was established in Isfahan in 1981 in response to the changing architectural and urban development needs of Iran. Founded by Amirhossein Afrasiabi and a group of architects and urban planners, the company began its activities in planning, architecture, and urban development, undertaking projects such as Behbahan’s accelerated development plan, Farokhshahr regeneration, and Shahinshahr. Throughout its more than four decades of practice, Polsheer has pursued an architectural approach that connects Iran’s rich cultural and architectural heritage with modernity and contemporary technologies. By considering geographical and cultural context while avoiding direct imitation of modern or postmodern styles, the firm has sought to reinterpret Iranian architecture in a contemporary language. Based in Isfahan, a historic center of art and architecture, Polsheer has designed more than 2,000 projects and implemented approximately 500, establishing a significant presence in Iran’s architectural and urban development field.
