rad architecture, a design-focused practice, works collaboratively to draw on professional experience and knowledge to encourage smart, responsive solutions to interior design, architectural and urban design commissions.
Established in 2004 by Director and architect Craig Riley and Lynn Churchill, rad architecture is a small practice of five architects and designers who are ethically and philosophically committed to providing socially and environmentally sustainable design outcomes addressing enduring flexibility of occupation and low-energy, low maintenance and low life cycle cost characteristics.
Essentially, rad architecture's idea and resolution for each individual project is a response to the specific synthesis of client/site/program. Thematically, projects cover residential, community and workplace environments with the emphasis on shifting modes of occupation where there are opportunities to re-consider the definition of the spatial proposition in relation to the program of occupation - how do the spaces we create enable shifts in the way we live and work? rad architecture has developed a 'practice plus theory' approach to the work that draws heavily on close client consultation and collaboration.
