Ramos Bilbao Architects has spent more than ten years making an honest and rigorous architecture nurtured by a collaborative work between architects and interior designers. The firm was founded by architect Xabier Ramos after graduating from the ETSA at the University of Navarra and working for some years in projects of third parties of important entity, such as universities or civic centers, and smaller scale projects aimed at the rehabilitation or reform of private homes, commercial premises or company headquarters among other works.
Knowing the studio means understanding the values by which it is governed when facing its creative work. The team pursues the maxim of simplifying designs into clear and recognizable concepts, something essential in their thinking to achieve the ideal balance between maximum aesthetic, functional and sustainable quality, something they achieve by playing and researching with volumes, materials, spaces and their interaction with light.
Identifying needs and values, extolling relevant concepts, is inherent to any project that aims at quality in its broadest meaning. Direct contact with the manufacturer and the factory, with the material and its possibilities, is an aspect on which the firm has been working and specializing over the years, until it has a high level of control over the finished product. The materials and their quality, what they represent and transmit is something that must be present in all the designs that are made here.
