Stefania was born in Verbania, near the Swiss border, and she was involved into the architecture of “Ticino school” thanks to the collaboration, during her university years, with a local firm that taught her "the craft". After graduating with a degree in architecture in architectural and urban design, she felt that the interior design could be her path: she began to love this discipline in some fashion show rooms, in the outfitting field, and then focused into a more constructive and detailed approach in Progetto CMR, an integrated design firm in Milan. Dynamic and curious, always attracted to new experiences and cultures, in 2009 left for Peru’, doing voluntary work for Operazione Mato Grosso, by establishing design guidelines for new outlets. The following year she had been a working experience in China, between Beijing and Tianjin, collaborating with the international design firm Progetto (Beijing) Architectural Design Consultants, and entering deeply in touch with the oriental culture. Always looking for new challenges, in 2013 she faced a new professional adventure, founding her own architectural design studio, sm*s stefaniamicottistudio . Actually the firm employs a network of professionals - gsbseiarchitetti - , sharing the same office, with their individual design skills and personal expertise in the most different areas (residential, office, hotel and retail), and MEP and structural consultants.
