/ The term SQUID originally refers to a Superconducting Quantum Interference Device—a highly sensitive sensor capable of measuring extremely subtle changes in magnetic fields. SQUIDs are used across a wide range of disciplines; their purpose is always to detect the finest vibrations, enabling conclusions about underlying conditions or processes and informing precise responses.
/ The name SQUID also references the film Strange Days (USA, 1995) by Kathryn Bigelow.
