Studio CAVA is an architecture and interior design studio in Costa Rica, working from San José and Guanacaste. We design custom homes, house extensions, rental villas, boutique hotels and restaurants across Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula, from Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Playa Negra and the Papagayo Peninsula to Nosara and Santa Teresa, and in the Central Valley.
Many of our clients live abroad and are building in Costa Rica for the first time. We take a project from the lot to the keys: a lot study before purchase, master planning, architecture, interiors, sustainable design, permits with CFIA and the municipality, and construction supervision. Every design starts with a visit to the site, its sun, wind, rain and slope, and with an early cost range.
Built work includes houses in Playa Grande, a house extension on the Papagayo Peninsula and hangars in Huacas. In progress: a retreat in Playa Negra, houses in Playa Langosta and a tree house in Las Ventanas.
