STUDIO DECODE is a multidisciplinary international award winning architecture + design firm. The firm is interested in exploring the blurred boundaries in design between culture, global aspirations, urbanism and geographical context.
Founded in Bangalore in June 2006, the practice is headed by architects Ashok Dutta and Meghana Dutta.
The firm’s works are an effort to produce an enriched environment through the overlapping connections to design, context, environment, engineering as well as processes of production. Projects at the firm include among others Office campuses, Institutional Campuses, Multi-family housing, Single-family homes, Interiors, Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, Industrial infrastructures, Corporate, Residential and Retail Interiors.
The firm’s works has been recognized globally through publications and features. The office is a highly collaborative practice comprising of a team of architects, interior designers, technologists, administrative managers, interns from multiple disciplines and assistants.
At Studio Decode Academia is integrated into the rigor of the practice. Architectural education, Research in architecture and Architectural practice are interdependent and interconnected. Critical Analysis of architectural theory and research based presentations are built into the practice similar to a core curriculum in an institution. The collective of the Practice and Academia in the same ecosystem, enriches the practice.
