Studio Koster

Geert Koster, born in 1961 in Groningen, the Netherlands, had his degree at the Academy of Art Minerva in Groningen in 1984 and at Domus Academy in Milano in 1985.

Since 1985 he works in Italy, collaborated with Michele De Lucchi, participated to the"Solid" Group and is co-founder of the group "O2" for sustainable design in 1988. 

In 1989 he opens his studio in Milano, STUDIOKOSTER, working in the field of interiors, exhibitions,furniture and industrial design. His activities include work for companies like Abet Laminati, Belux, Cappellini, Hidden NL, Metalarte, Montis, Lema, Castaldi, Olivetti, Gruppo Sintesi.

He worked in the Olivetti design studio, researching the future of the work environment and designing office furniture.

The studio has designed and supervised projects all over Italy and in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Shanghai, Hongkong, Tokyo, Riyadh and Rio de Janeiro.

The field of activities of STUDIOKOSTER is the architectural design at various scales. In recent years the studio has dealt with architecture and interior design for high-profile Italian and foreign companies, in particular in the design of new store and office concepts, creating environments in harmony with the client and its consumers, focusing on new ways of using space, and creating strategie to better approach the consumer.

The experience and knowledge of company strategies, especially of corporate communications, marketing and retail interaction, has directed the studio to a design consultancy that aims to frame corporate objectives and brand values related to retail sales and strategies.

Research and experimentation of new materials and technologies are the base of every new project.

He is teaching design at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano.
