Our understanding of design is based on a conceptual approach. This means to provide a fundament for our products to show their character through their formal aesthetics and materials. By this, design can inspire people to build a relationship to their objects.
We are - Florestan Schuberth and Janis Fromm - two design students from Hamburg, Germany. We founded Studio Marfa in 2015 as a platform to present our products and prototypes to the public. As individual designers, as well as good team players we love to enrich our projects with enthusiasm and our personal perception. Since we started studying at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg we have the vision of creating products and furniture that tells a story.
The SOMA Chair was the main project of our practical Bachelor exam.
