TAELON7

TAELON7 is an architecture practice led by Juergen Benson-Strohmayer, developing adaptive civic infrastructures across cultures, climates, and economies. TAELON7’s projects are porous, open-ended, and alive to context, ranging from cultural buildings and productive landscapes to lightweight civic structures. TAELON7 approaches architecture as an evolving framework shaped by use, change, and collective life.

Recent work includes Limbo Engawa, commissioned by Limbo Museum in Accra and Art Omi in New York, and Edge Assemblies, developed for Concéntrico in Spain and subsequently presented at Færderbiennalen in Norway. Built projects include Fair Trade Zone, Surf Ghana Collective, dot.ateliers | Ogbojo, and Nubuke Extended. Recognition includes the Holcim Gold Award for Sustainable Construction, the Fassa Bortolo International Prize for Sustainable Architecture Silver Medal, and shortlisting for the Architectural Review Emerging Architecture Awards.

Juergen Benson-Strohmayer is an architect, researcher, and educator and the founder of TAELON7. He studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and has taught there and at the Ethiopian Institute of Architecture in Addis Ababa. He has lectured and participated in academic programmes at institutions including the African Futures Institute and Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture, and has served repeatedly as a guest juror at the Architectural Association in London.
