TBA Architecture is a Paris-based architecture practice founded by Tarek Ballouch, working across residential, collective housing, healthcare and professional projects, primarily in Paris and the Île-de-France region.
The studio approaches architecture through the specific conditions of each site, with a particular interest in existing buildings and their capacity for transformation. Rehabilitation, extension and new construction are considered through the same attention to context, use, proportion and materiality.
Before founding TBA Architecture, Tarek Ballouch worked for eight years as a project architect at Petitdidierprioux Architectes (PPX) in Paris, contributing to housing, public and mixed-use projects in France and internationally. His background between Morocco and France, together with extensive travel, has shaped an open and culturally diverse understanding of architecture and the ways in which people inhabit places.
Today, TBA Architecture develops projects at different scales, from individual houses to collective and professional spaces. Rather than applying a predetermined language, the studio seeks to reveal the potential already present in a site: its structure, constraints, materials, light and relationship to its surroundings.
Architecture begins with what is already there — a place, a structure, a use — and with the possibilities of transforming it.
