THA Architecture has been designing some of the most loved architectural work of the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years. Founding Principal Thomas Hacker created a design practice based on clearly articulated principles, with a goal of creating spaces uniquely suited to the people they serve.
Our work is unified by its unique and poetic response to site, client, and program – and our extensive portfolio of significant, well-loved, award-winning projects reflects these values.
THA’s studio office is housed in Portland’s historic Balfour-Guthrie building, which we renovated in 2002 to become the nation’s first LEED certified architectural office.
As the recipient of the 2013 AIA Northwest & Pacific Region Firm of the Year award, THA has been recognized for maintaining the highest standards of design, service to our community and the planet, and having a sustainable approach to the long term success of the firm.
