Scope of Work:
Architectural Design | Renovation | Art Curation | Product Design
Tsing-Tien Making (TTM) is a design studio offering services in architectural design, renovation, art curation, and product design. The studio is committed to projects with significant historical and public relevance, aiming to enhance the connection and experience among communities, individuals, and design.
The studio emphasizes exploration from various dimensions such as architecture, space, and landscape. Through design, we seek to strengthen its impact on cities, streets, communities, homes, and individuals, providing a richer understanding of the projects' social engagement, and public awareness.
Freja Bao, founder of Tsing-Tien, has been actively engaged in both architecture and art in the UK and Japan. Her works have been exhibited multiple times at the Royal Academy of Arts London. During this experience, Freja recognized the influence and potential dynamism of the traditional culture on contemporary design. In 2023, she established Tsing-Tien Making. Tsing means cyan; Tien means sky. The name draws inspiration from the ancient Chinese phrase – that states that “the east is referred to as cyan”, highlighting the significance of the colour “Tsing” in traditional Chinese culture. The atelier’s design approach begins with a focus on tradition. By delving into history, it establishes connections and resonances with contemporary life, creating designs that embody the essence of the present and history.
