The Architectural Design and Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology Co., Ltd., established in 1958, is a large domestically well-known state-owned engineering design and consulting institution. Depending on the profound scientific research resources and cultural heritage of Harbin Institute of Technology, a centennial university, the institute has ranked among the forefront in the industry in China and took the lead in Northern China after more than 60 years of development and growth. The institute has been granted such honorable titles as one of China's Top Ten Architectural Design Companies, Outstanding Design Institute by CEDA and one of Contemporary China's Top 100 Famous Design Institutes.
Our institute's business fields cover the whole process of engineering project construction, including preliminary consultation, urban planning, architectural design, landscape architecture design, interior decoration design, municipal transportation design, engineering survey, engineering supervision and agency construction for projects, with projects covering all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China. More than 400 projects have been granted outstanding design awards such as national gold and silver awards and prominent industry achievements have been obtained.
Our institute consists of design departments, creation research centers, journal office, international joint research centers, single major research departments and non-local branches, with more than 1,000 staff members and professional technical teams with tremendous strength, consisting of a large number of technical authorities in the design field, including academicians of the CAE, national design masters, experts included in the national 1,000 talent plan, state-level experts with outstanding contributions and experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council.
As a national high-tech enterprise, our institute is based on international architectural engineering design in cold region and focuses on low carbon, environmental protection and innovation in green energy conservation technology. Depending on international joint research institutions such as the Key Lab for Cold Region Architectural Science, the Northeastern Cold Region Human Settlement Environment Collaborative Innovation Center and the Sino-Dutch Research Center for Construction in Extreme Climates, the institute established a domestic top-level cold regional architectural human settlement environment research platform. The institute which has taken on a series of national key research and development program, including the Twelfth Five-Year Plan National Key Technology Support Program, possesses many national patents and has won various kinds of awards besides, such as China Award for Science and Technology in Construction, Governor's Special Award and National Scientific and Technological Award.
