Volk Studio

VOLK Furniture is a contemporary design studio that strives to create objects and furnishings imbued with a feeling of harmony and balance. We believe that simplicity can be luxurious and that whimsical details can bring lasting joy. We are inspired by playful utility and thoughtful purpose. We love that design can bring us together and connect us to our history as well as to our environment. Owner and designer, Brian Volk-Zimmerman (BFA, Rhode Island School of Design) is a painter and musician who began making furniture in 2006 in a cabinet shop in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. After moving his studio to a Civil War era warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, he launched with a small collection in 2012.
