Kalyca Ryan and Bram Sawatzky share a passion for woodworking and innovative furniture design. Following graduation from the University of Alberta’s Industrial Design program in 2008, they were both drawn to the creative community in Vancouver.
Initially inspired by designing for their small living areas, Kalyca & Bram started out creating furniture that was multifunctional and space-saving. They quickly realized this was not a unique problem in Vancouver, and they co-founded Willow & Stump Furniture Design in April 2014 to meet the needs of others living in small spaces in the lower mainland and beyond. The pair works with a combination of wood technology and new materials to create designs that are fresh, graceful and functional.
