After studying and practicing overseas, Megan Wraight, WA’s founding director, made the decision to bring her talents back home to New Zealand. Following several years working for various landscape architectural practices in Christchurch, Megan set up her own practice with the support of the local design fraternities in Christchurch and Wellington.
After a stretch in Christchurch, Megan, her family and the practice made the move northward to Wellington. In 2003, Wraight + Associates Ltd was founded. Formerly Megan Wraight Landscape Architects, WA continues to grow and develop, building upon our established reputation for design excellence within the landscape and urban arenas.
After a number of extended working visits and successful collaborations with WA, Nicole Thompson made the permanent leap over to Wellington, from Sydney, in 2004. Having happily left red-back spiders and poisonous snakes behind, Nicole now takes great delight in the rugged coastlines and compact urbanity of her adopted homeland, Wellington. In 2006 she accepted Megan’s offer to become a fellow director.
In 2007, on the back of a long career in various Sydney landscape practices, Martin Bryant made the jump across the Tasman. Being always quick off the mark, WA leapt at the chance to bring Martin’s extensive experience, industry knowledge and creativity into the practice.
Together the three directors, Megan, Martin and Nicole, traverse a spectrum of complementary skills and knowledge, the aggregate of which affords the practice a solid base from which to analyse, assess and develop ideas.
