Hanna Zminkowska and Richard De Boise met while working at theatre architects, Foster Wilson Architects (formerly Tim Foster Architects). There they worked together on numerous performing arts projects and found that they shared a similar passion for and approach to architecture. In 2009 they decided to set up a practice together following these values.
Zminkowska De Boise Architects approach each project on its own merit. Although each appears different, they collectively share our interests in maximising natural light and views, the use of materials and how they can be minimally and elegantly joined together to create space whilst endeavouring to design as environmentally sustainable as possible.
Though the practices projects appear contemporary, we believe in the importance of learning from the past and responding to context, whether physical or cultural to create a sense of place. The design process begins by listening to clients’ briefs, studying sites’ context, and investigating alternative options through an iterative process of sketching and model-making.
Zminkowska De Boise Architects offer architectural services for all scales and all stages of projects from conception to completion in London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
